Una Pale


Una Pale is a PhD student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, where she specializes in processing biomedical signals for application on wearable devices for use in healthcare, and developing a new method of machine learning called “hyperdimensional computing”. The largest project she is currently working on is focused on the development of algorithms and devices for the detection of epileptic seizures from EEG signals.

For many years she has been leading the Penkala Association, which aims to connect young Croatian researchers and technologists, from industry and academia, from Croatia and abroad. By organizing various events, podcasts, blogs and several projects, its goal is to transfer knowledge among different generations and encourage cooperation to strengthen the Croatian scientific community.
