The Web Festival is a special event dedicated to Web authors as well as Web users, giving the opportunity to Web authors to present their accomplishments and users to compare them, and to evaluate their impact. In line with this year's topic, Web Festival was a contest for the best portal.

The contest was open to everybody (Rules of the contest). The deadline for the submission of Web sites was September 8th, 2000. Since April 3rd till September 8th, 2000 we received 119 applications for Web Festival. Check out the list of 22 web sites selected for final competition.

The Jury officially awarded best web site in each category and seven Special Mentions of the Jury were given.

Apart from the official contest, all visitors of the official conference Web site had the opportunity to vote for the best web site in the contest (September 21th - 26th, 2000) and a special award - "Users' Choice" was given.
