The Internet is expanding rapidly. Today, dozens
of people are Internet users and many of them are reinventing
the use of technology in creative and amazing fashion. Beyond
domain names, servers, computers, protocols, the Internet rests
on actual use by actual people.
CARNet's
mission has always been to motivate its users to actively use
and build the Croatian information space. However, if we wish
to implement new information technologies into all fields, we
must educate users in those technologies.
This
track addressed user-centred issues, especially, users' support.
User support activities should inspire network users. Topics discussed
on the conference were: How can we inspire CARNet users? What
services do they expect? How far should our support go? How does
the successful help desk look like?
