Informatization of higher education institutions – from SAP solution to B4B customers
In the higher education of the Republic of Croatia, the main problem upon the introduction of the Bologna process has become the optimization of available resource usage: budget funds, private income, personnel, facilities and equipment, as well as funds distribution by introducing lump-sum financing method. As a proposal for the solution of the set problems, the presentation will show basic functionalities of SAP solution for higher education institutions and it will provide an overview of B4B's experience of the application of functionalities on Croatian universities, as well as the vision of creating an integrated business information system of higher education institutions of the Republic of Croatia in line with EU guidelines.

Cisco Unified Wireless Network - second generation wireless solution

While telecommunication companies turn towards fix-mobile convergence, and
mobile phone vendors integrate GSM/Wireless into mobile devices Cisco has
built next generation wireless network capable to support real time
applications such as voice and video, together with traditional data
transfer and new applications such as location services based on RFID
technology. As wireless networks are popular as newer before, IEEE has
recognized lack of bandwidth as limitation for future applications. Result
of IEEE work is new 802.11n standard which will be covered in this
presentation together with new wireless mesh technology very popular in
Metro Wireless Networks. At the end we will go through case studies of new
wireless networks from Croatia.
