WEB FESTIVAL

The Web
Festival is a special event dedicated to Web authors as well as Web
users, offering the opportunity to Web authors to present their accomplishments
and Web users to compare them, and to evaluate their impact. In line
with this year's topic, Web Festival was a contest for the best unofficial
Web site on an arbitrary but well-defined topic in three categories:

          - Web site
            which presents the geographical entity

- Web site
            which presents a social group

- Web
site which presents activities and phenomena
The contest
was open to everybody (Rules of the
contest). The deadline for the submission of Web sites
was September 6th, 2002. From April 16 until September 6 we received
          over 150 applications
for the Web Festival. Check out the list
of 21 Web sites selected for final competition. The Jury
          officially awarded best Web sites.
        Apart from
the official contest, all visitors of the official conference Web site
had the opportunity to vote for the best Web site entered in the contest
          (September 19 - 27, 2002) and a special
award - "Users' Choice" was granted.
