Cristina Costa is the Learning and Research Technologies Manager for the Academic Development Unit at the University of Salford, UK, where she champions innovative means of teaching and learning, convening and disseminating research activity with the use of new web technologies.
In 2010 she was named Learning Technologist of the Year by the Association for Learning Technology (ALT).Her research focuses on the use of Participatory Media in a changing environment. She is particularly interested in analysing the advantages and also the implications of using the social web for teaching, learning, research, and community and public engagement.
