Nenad Bakic. Graduated in applied mathematics
at the Department of Mathematics, University of Zagreb, in
1991, and afterwards obtained a masters degree at the same
department with the thesis ‘Quantum groups and Crystal
algebras’. He spent a year at graduate studies at the
Pennstate University, USA. Mr. Bakic finished a 3-year International
Chartered Financial Analyst program, and was educated in leading
international investment banks. He attained to, and was invited
speaker at numerous international financial conferences and
workshops.
After
graduating, Mr. Bakic worked for several years as teaching
assistant at the Department of Mathematics of University of
Zagreb. In 1996 he started his own company for financial markets
research, but soon joined a leading Croatian bank where he
led various departments (Investment banking research, Investor
relations), and managed several projects (pension funds project,
various M&A projects).
In 1999
he re-activated own advisory company Tau advisory, specialised
in corporate finance, asset management advisory and research,
and venture capital advisory. The company executed various
transactions and advised domestic and international clients
in several projects in the 1-20 USD million range.
From June
2001 to June 2002 he served the CEO and fund manager of Helios
obligatory pension fund, where he is currently an adviser.
Simultaneously
with his career in finance, Mr. Bakic started-up MojPosao,
an Internet recruitment and selection company. The company
has been defining and developing the Internet recruitment
market in Croatia and is the market leader. Mr. Bakic supports
several other start-ups.
He teaches
various finance courses at the Department of Mathematics,
University of Zagreb. Apart from Croatian, he speaks English
and Italian.
