Digital libraries - creating information space excellence: is it already time for benchmarking?

Radovan Vrana, MSc., is a research assistant at the Department of information sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. His areas of interest include research and development of library information services by use of information technology. He works on the project "Organization, preservation and management of the Croatian book heritage" including a section on the development of digital information resources from different printed and electronic materials. Another area of interest are digital libraries and their development in general, which is associated with the development of communication and computer technology as well as with the development of libraries and human resources working in libraries.
