Faculty of Agronomy in Zagreb has been developing the internet-oriented system for fireblight monitoring and forecasting, in the framework of the Agriculture Research Council Project “Automatisation of apple fireblight forecasting system”, and in co-operation with the Agricultural Extension Service. The objective of the system is to achieve more rapid and comprehensive reporting about outbreaks of this quarantine disease, to monitor more numerous field locations, and to record systematically weather characteristics and crop-development phases. Moreover, it will be possible to add new forecasting models for other plant diseases to this system, that use the same initial information.
