TERENA, the Trans European Research and Education Networking Organization coordinates technical activities and provides a platform for discussion to encourage the development of a high-quality computer networking infrastructure for the European research community. It represents the interests of TERENA members in relevant International organizations, organizes Conferences and Workshops, and runs a TECHNICAL PROGRAMME currently focusing on five Special Interest Areas:

Video Conferencing / Streaming of Media

Differentiated Services (QoS and Metrics)

Information Services (Caching, Indexing, Searching)

Security Issues (Certification / Digital Signatures)

Technologies

The technical programme is implemented through working groups, task-forces, and pilot projects. All activities are based on volunteer contribution as well as on specific proposals by the TERENA members.
