Valentino Cavalli is one of the Project Development
Officers at TERENA who assist the Task Forces and contribute
to technical projects. He is currently responsible for TF-CACHE.
He is also working on the areas of streaming media and videoconferencing.
He graduated in philosophy from the University of Urbino in
1987: his studies were ranging from philosopy of language to
epistemology and logics.
Before joining TERENA, he worked as a Research Manager at Omega
Generation (IT) where he liaised with the European Commission
on a number of projects under the Fourth Framework Programme.
He was the coordinator of Web4Groups, a project funded by the
Telematics for Research sector, which developed a WWW-based
collaboration and conferencing service. Until April 1999 he
coordinated the COSMOS project, supported by the Esprit Programme,
providing middleware that enabled mobile business applications
to run over wireless networks.
He has been working for TERENA since May 1999.
