Web Festival Awards :

  • First Place:

    E-School, Physics,

    This is the most complete web site among the web sites which applied for the web festival. The Jury would like to point out its interactivity and excellent design.

    As far as the content is concerned, there are problem tasks connected to everyday life, which additionally motivate the participants.

    There is another part of the web, which is the best among the selected 21. References to other sites are well organised and enriched with scientist's comments.

    Award was: Adobe Photoshop 5.0 HR (by HSM), CASIO Pocket Viewer (by KOFORM), MSDN Universal 6.0 1 year subscription (by Microsoft Croatia), Visual Studio Enterprise Edition 6.0 (by Microsoft Croatia)

  • Second place:

    Interactivity in Physiology,
    author: Sunčana Kukolja Taradi, School of Medicine, Zagreb

    This web could be an example of how to use advantages of web technology inconducting lectures on the faculty. Along with solid technical solutions and a lot of small interaction applications, this web has a huge amount of educational material, which is presented as problem tasks. The Jury have to mention that the presentation of the content is very well organised.

  • Third place:

    Guide through Occupations,
    author: Branimir Šverko, The Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb

    This is an excellent example of how to apply interactivity in the presentation of educational content. It is useful to almost all generations, especially primary and secondary school students.

Special Mentions of the Jury

1. MDC site, Museum Documentation Centre Site,
    author: Edin Zvizdić, Museum Documentation Centre, Zagreb

This is a site with excellent quality and amount of information. Also, it has the best design among the selected 21. According to content, it is somewhere between an educational and information web site. It is an example of how to make referent web sites.

The Jury noticed that there is insufficient interactivity.

2. E-School Biology,
     author: Toni Nikolić, Croatian Biological Society, Zagreb

3. E- School Astronomy,
    author: Dragan Roša, Zagreb Astronomical Observatory, Zagreb

The idea of e-schools deserves a thumb up. E-schools satisfy the interests of talented pupil, who are often neglected in regular system of education. The growth of the e-school project to other science areas may be the next step in development of e-schools.

4. Periodical System of the Elements,
    author: Eni Generalić, The Faculty of Chemical Technology, Split
This web site presents the content on a very high level of quality with interactive elements. It is applicable for a wide range of users.


5. Sign Language,
    author: Jerko Ban, The Faculty of Philosophy of the Society of Jesus, Zagreb

It is a very original and human application of new technologies. It uses multimedia to help us learn how to communicate with deaf people.
