The aim of 8th CARNet User Conference was to face the challenges that all CARNet users in academic, scientific and educational community are facing in their everyday work, with particular emphasis on topics concerning the affirmation of new users. The conference also elaborated the subject of Croatian educational system competitiveness and global trends.

The program comprised four tutorials, six workshops, four plenary sessions and 60 presentations divided in ten sessions. CUC 2006 offered also a series of round tables and discussions focusing on numerous current topics related to ICT education implementation, school system computerization, but also Internet security, especially of minors.

For the first time the official language of the conference is Croatian.

CUC 2006 was inscribed in the Catalog of conferences of the Education and Teacher Training Agency.
