With the recent
popularity of Linux and a strong advance of Open Source, Linux
is moving from server platform to the desktop of every user.
During recent years desktop enviroments for Linux have advanced
very rapidly, and users can now enjoy in modern and inovative
enviroments.
If a user follows simple philosophy and logic which lies behind,
Linux can be used as a very good and productive workplace.
Workshop will talk
about efficiently using GNOME and KDE desktop, but it will
also show some power of command line and how common user can
take most advantage of it.
Special emphasis will be on how to optimize your Linux workplace
with their good and bad sides: optimizing memory usage, speed
and power management.
