The grid promises to fundamentally change the way we think about and use computer and network resources. According to Ian Foster, father of computational grid "The Grid is a consistent and standardised environment for collaborative, distributed problem solving that requires high performance computing on massive amounts of data that are stored, and/or generated at high data rates using widely distributed, heterogeneous resources". This panel discussion will address open issues of grid-like initiatives and projects in Croatia. Possibilities for future work and collaboration will be examined. Perspectives for joined, national initiatives and projects will be explored.
