Communication Effectiveness and Subjective Aspects in Desktop Videoconferencing

Danijela Horvat, B.A., Psychology; currently employed in the Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet) at the position of Human Resources Department leader. Mrs. Horvat's professional interests comprise the human resources management and the human-computer interaction. Since working in CARNet she has been a project leader of "CARNet public Web usability testing" internal project presented on the CUC 2000 and a member of various project teams dealing with measuring different aspects of users satisfaction.

Andrej Zaluski, Mag.rer.nat., Psychology; a research fellow at the Section of Cognitive Psychology, Department of Psychology, University of Graz. Mr. Zaluski's research activities focus on mathematical modeling in the experimental cognitive psychology, especially the knowledge space theory and the development of querying experts techniques. Mr. Zaluski's development activities concern the adaptivity aspects of learning technologies. Being a member of different project teams, Mr. Zaluski contributed to the several projects presented on the CUC '99 and CUC 2000.

Miro Capan, B.Sc.E.E., more than two years employed as a consulting-engineer in the CARNet, working in its Research and Development Laboratory. Mr. Capan's areas of expertise include, but are not limited to the IP networking, networks' design and their integration with operating systems, and the Windows operating systems administration. During his engagement in CARNet, Mr. Capan led the Video-over-ATM project. Today, Mr. Capan works as a presales-support engineer and a Cisco consultant in the company RECRO, Zagreb.
