PARADOX No. 4
A recent study revealed that most pairs of pages on the Web are separated by a handful of links, almost always under 20, and this is referred to as the “small world” phenomenon. In fact, everything on the Web seems just a few clicks away.
However, other studies revealed that only about 30% of the web pages are heavily interconnected and that 46% of the pages go nowhere. Moreover, there is probably 500 times more Internet content, i.e. the “deep” Web, than can be discovered by standard search engines.
