Zoran Bekić was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1959. He obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in applied mathematics and computer science from Lomonosov University, Moscow, Russia in 1981. and 1984., respectively. For more than 15 years he was working in University Computing Centre (SRCE), University of Zagreb, where he was deputy director and head of Information services and user support department starting from 1994. Zoran Bekić participated in establishment and development of information and user support services in Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet), where he is currently deputy chief executive officer. He is author of more than 20 scientific and technical papers in the field of information technology and member of several professional societies.
