Dr. Bojan Vrınak was born in Zagreb in 1957. He graduated in
theoretical physics in 1980, achieved M.Sc. in 1983 and Ph.D.
in 1987 in the field of astrophysics - solar physics. Since
1981 he is employed at Hvar Observatory, Faculty of Geodesy,
University of Zagreb, researching solar activity - mainly dynamical
MHD processes in the solar atmosphere. In this field he published
more than hundered scientific papers. He is the author of several
text-books and a number of popular science articles. He is active
in teaching of astronomy (summer-schools, competitions, seminars
for school teachers etc.) and he took part in organization and
implementation of the e-school project in Croatia. He is the
member of the Croatian Astronomical Society , Croatian Phyisical
Society, European Astronomical Society, European Geophysical
Society and International Astronomical Union
