I was born in Zagreb, Croatia (Ex-Yugoslavia) where I finished
primary school and gymnasium. I took a degree of Bachelor in
Physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb in July
1979. The same year I started with my work at the Ruder Bo¹kovic
Institute Library as librarian - information specialist in the
field of physics, mathematics end electrical engineering. Since
January 1996 I am the head of the library. I obtained the degree
of Master of Science in Information Sciences in July 1997 at
the University of Zagreb, on the basis of a master thesis about
Virtual libraries. I took a degree of Bachelor of Art in Library
and Information Sciences in June 1998. My recent work includes
several projects which I lead: (CROSBI) "Croatian scientific
bibliography" (web system for building bibliographic database
about scientific and professional papers), "CARNet Online Database
Centre" (databases for the academic and scientific community
of Croatia), "Croatian information system - Sciences", "Kooperation
zwischen deutschen wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken und wissenschaftlichen
Bibliotheken in Mittel- und Osteuropa" (German Library Institute,
Berlin, Universitätsbibliothek, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany
and Ruder Bo¹kovic Institute Library, Croatia).Recently I have
been a member of the project group - "Croatian Library Information
System" (Ministry of science and technology and Ministry of
culture) and member of the coordination committee of the Ministry
of Science and Technology: foreign scientific journals acquisition
for Croatian academic and research community for the year 1999.
My current interests are in the area of retrieval systems, library
organisation and management, library automation (integrated
online library systems), network services in the library, libraries
on the Web (contents, structure, design), electronic publishing
(scientific journals), and digital libraries.
