10th to 12th November 2008, Rijeka

From 10th to 12th November, at the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the Rijeka University, the 10th CARNet Users Conference presented some daily challenges faced by all Internet users, from beginners to professionals. This international Conference was organized by the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet, and sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports with the support of the Town of Rijeka.

Entitled "Internet 10.0", the Conference presented eleven workshops, a number of presentations and round tables, as well as seventy nine papers, with the emphasis on the needs of Internet technologies users, especially those from the ranks of academic and research community, professors and teachers in primary and secondary schools and CARNet system engineers and coordinators. There were 420 participants registered at the Conference.

The 10th CARNet Users Conference – CUC 2008 – opened with the introductory lecture by Mr. Ivan Vidaković, Director of IBM Hrvatska d.o.o., and continued with valuable contributions from globally recognised ICT professionals - Mr. Klaas Wierenga, a Consulting Engineer of the Cisco Systems Technical Director from Netherlands and Mr. Martin Dougiamas from Australia, the author and leading developer of Moodle.

For the ninth time, CUC was accompanied by a Webfestival intended for web authors. The Webfestival 2008 was dedicated to institutional web contents users and dealt with school web sites created with the use of CARNet CMS system.
