Education:
Graduated in 1987 at Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb.
Studied general linguistics, phonetics, latin and informational
sciences for humanities.
1988 started to work in the Institute of linguistics at the Faculty
of Philosophy, Zagreb. Today the principal researcher at the projects
MZT 130718, 130821, 130735 and 130736 in the same Institute.
M.A. in 1992 and Ph.D. in 1994 with the topic Computational processing
of the Croatian morphology at Faculty of Philosophy, University
of Zagreb.
In 1998 assistant professor at the Department of linguistics at
the same Faculty.
In 2001 the head of the Chair of Algebraic and Computational Linguistics
at the same Department.
Member of Croatian philological society, Croatian society for
applied linguistics, Slovene society for language technology,
TELRI association.

Ivana Simeon

Ivana Simeon is a research fellow at the Institute of Linguistics,
Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb.
She obtained a B.A. in general linguistics and Russian language
and literature in 1999 and in 2000 she joined the project Computer
Processing of the Croatian Language. She has delivered conference
presentations and published several papers in the field of applied
and computational lingustics. In 1999, she won the Chancellor's
Award for the paper Parallel Corpora and Their Use.
Her fields of interest include the use of IT in linguistic research,
parallel corpora processing, machine translation and translation
theory.
She is a member of Croatian society for applied linguistics and
Slovene society for language technology.
