Internet has become a huge resource
of information. However efficient resource discovery is an open
issue. High user expectations are confronted with unperfect tools
that are under constant development. Searching tools have to deal
with uncertain quality and integrity of Internet information space.
This workshop puts more light on actual searching tools and techniques.
Internal mechanisms of searching tools are explained and best
practices in resource discovery are examined. Participants will
learn how to search the Internet more efficiently and how to select
the tools that meet their needs. Workshop is designed for both
users and information providers that want to expand their knowledge
about searching tools and techniques on the Internet. Basic experience
with standard web searching tools is expected.
