Considering the moderate number of courses delivered via distance education in Croatia, there is a need to inform the potential distance "educators" about different tools and methods. This will be done in a short introduction to the tutorial, which will be followed by the hands-on experience of creating a distance education course while using WebCT, as an example of the courseware. WebCT is chosen for this purpose as it is proven to be suitable for many education institutions around the world and is also easily available. By the end of the tutorial participants will be able to build up a simple distance education course, which consists of course administration and management, creating learning materials and conducting the course through different modes of communication within the course. Participants are expected to be familiar with Internet technology including the basics of web publishing and site management.
