Today's rapid growth of technologies related to Internet and virtual reality opens door for development and implementation of various methodologies which could help in system analysis and design. In this paper we are presenting usage of VRML technology for modeling of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS). The library of 3D robots, transporters and pistons models have been created. By using objects contained in the library user can build a virtual model of an FMS. Once having the model user has ability to investigate its behavior by using JAVA based applets.
