Mario Juric is a student of 3rd
year of physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.
He is the project leader of the "Visnjan Observatory Database
2" project, a joint project of CARNet and Visnjan Observatory.
During the past 2 years, Mario Juric has been the chief software
architect of Visnjan Observatory's automated astronomical data
acquisition system known as RINGS. Since the introduction RINGS,
more than 1000 new asteroids and two comets (comet Korlevic-Juric
and comet Korlevic) were discovered. For his work on strategies
of observing and searching for asteroids developed in Visnjan
("VOS - Visnjan Observing Strategy"), he has been awarded the
1999 University of Zagreb Dean's award. With Korado Korlevic he
co-authored a presentation named "Visnjan Observatory NEO Followup"
presented at International Astronomical Union's ACM '99 conference
at Cornell University.
